You’re trying.
Of course you are.
That’s what you’ve always done.
Trying to feel better.
Trying to be present.
Trying to do it right.
Trying not to try too hard.
(That one’s tricky.)
You carry so much hope
in your effort.
But maybe
it’s time to rest the effort, too.
What if there’s nothing
to achieve in this moment?
What if this isn’t a test,
but a place to lay down the tools —
even the ones called “awareness”
and “healing”
and “mindfulness”?
Let your breath be a soft breeze.
Let your thoughts be birds
flying past.
Let the moment
not need you to fix it.
Sit here, not as a project
but as a presence.
Even this —
this beautiful, weary, well-meaning trying —
can be loved
and gently released.
