Double Your Impact
For 45 years, CCI Support has been a lifeline for people living with chronic illness — offering connection, advocacy, information, and a place where people are truly understood. Today, like many charities across Aotearoa, we’re navigating a challenging funding environment. Several grants we usually rely on weren’t available this year, and we need to raise additional funds to keep our services running strongly. We’re looking to raise at least 20,000 with your support.
That’s why we’re launching something powerful:
The CCI Support Matched Donor Campaign
View a Matched Giving Campaign Live and in Action! Here:
Thanks to generous supporters, every donation made during this campaign will be matched dollar‑for‑dollar — instantly doubling your impact.
That means:
- Your $20 becomes $40
- Your $50 becomes $100
- Your $100 becomes $200
Your generosity goes twice as far in supporting people living with chronic illness.
Why Your Support Matters Right Now
CCI Support receives no government contract or baseline funding. We rely almost entirely on philanthropic grants and community donations to provide:
- One‑on‑one support
- Peer support groups
- Navigation and advocacy
- Resources and education
- A safe, understanding community
Your donation helps protect these vital services for thousands of people across Aotearoa.
Become a Matched Donor
We’re inviting individuals, families, businesses, and trusts to join us as Matched Donors.
Matched Donors pledge a set amount (e.g., $500, $1,000, $5,000), which is used to match public donations during the campaign. This inspires others to give and multiplies the impact across our whole community.

Matched Donor – Frequently Asked Questions:
What is a matched donor?
A matched donor pledges a set amount that is used to match public donations during the campaign. This means every dollar donated by the community is doubled (or tripled), instantly increasing its impact.
Why is CCI Support running a matched donor campaign?
Like many charities across Aotearoa, we’re navigating a challenging funding environment. Several major grants we usually rely on weren’t available this year. Matched giving helps us raise the additional funds needed to keep our services running strongly.
How does matched giving work?
If you pledge $5,000 as a matched donor, and the community donates $5,000, your match doubles the total to $10,000. If you pledge a 2:1 match, your $5,000 could turn $2,500 in community donations into $7,500 total.
What amounts can matched donors pledge?
Matched donors can pledge any amount — common pledges range from $500 to $10,000. Every contribution helps.
Can businesses or trusts become matched donors?
Yes. Individuals, families, businesses, and charitable trusts are all welcome to participate.
Do matched donors have to be publicly named?
No. You can choose to be:
- publicly acknowledged
- anonymous
- recognised in honour or memory of someone
You decide what feels right.
How will my pledge be acknowledged?
As a matched donor your generosity will be shared with our members through our newsletters, social media posts (on our public page and private member-only group), through press releases, and on our website. We are honoured to shine a light on your business as an organisation with a conscience, who is willing to use profit for good, to help those living with complex chronic illnesses.
When do matched donors pay their pledge?
You can choose to:
- pay upfront
- pay after the campaign
- pay in instalments
We’ll work with you to make it easy.
How long does the campaign run?
The campaign runs for a set period (e.g., 2-4 weeks). During this time, all public donations are matched until the pledged match amount is reached.
What will the funds support?
Funds raised help protect and strengthen CCI Support’s core services, including:
- one‑on‑one support
- peer support groups
- navigation and advocacy
- resources and education
- community connection
These services are lifelines for people living with chronic illness.

why do we exist?
At Complex Chronic Illness Support, we understand the unique struggles and uncertainties that come with managing chronic illnesses. That’s why we’re committed to providing comprehensive assistance and a supportive community for individuals and their loved ones every step of the way. CCI Support, is more than just an organisation; it’s a beacon of hope and understanding for those facing the challenges of chronic health conditions.
Our mission is clear: to empower individuals with chronic illnesses to live their lives to the fullest by offering a range of resources, educational materials, and emotional support. From connecting members with healthcare professionals to providing access to specialised treatments and therapies, CCI Support is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those affected by chronic health conditions.
We exist for members like Renee who says: “CCI Support has been a God send to me in my situation. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (MECFS) can be a complex and often misunderstood condition, leaving you with many questions and feeling alone and isolated on your journey to wellness. CCI Support have been an incredible support. Joining CCI Support online groups has made me realise that I’m not alone and by listening to others experiences I have learnt a lot.”
And Fiona who adds: “When I was first diagnosed with FM and ME/CFS, 16 years ago, I was told there was no cure, and it would be lifelong. This was overwhelming and soul destroying. However, CCI Support enabled renewed hope and ability to find meaning. I was able to regain control of my life through appropriate symptom management and pacing strategies and make long-lasting friendships through our local social group. Although my life has not turned out the way I had hoped or planned, I have found meaning living in the present, and that is thanks to CCI Support.”

Complex chronic illness can adversely affect normal everyday living, impacting on school and work attendance. It is the leading cause of school absence. So, the earlier an individual is diagnosed the better their chances of seeking treatment, establishing pain and symptom management plans, and preserving quality of life. It also arms them with knowledge which enables them to make informed decisions about their care and support needs.
