Hi everyone, I hope Spring has sprung in your neck of the woods! A very warm welcome to all our new members who have joined us recently.
A reminder that hydration will be especially important as we head into the warmer months of the year. Spreading 2-3 litres of water throughout the day is ideal, this can include cold or warm water, herbal teas, we even get some water from the delicious salad vegetables that are coming into season such as lettuce, cucumber and celery.
I would like to mention our online platforms which are available for connecting with other members. Social isolation is a very difficult part of having chronic illness, and so we strive to provide many opportunities for our members to connect with others who understand each other’s challenges. We have various monthly online zoom groups including Parents who are unwell, Supporters/Loved ones, 18-25’s, those who are living alone, Rainbow community, New Members, Long Time Members, Working members and more. Our private members only Facebook group is another great safe place to connect with others, ask questions, share experiences and share information you may have found. Sometimes this can be a nice place to be if you are needing a pick me up, our members are all very kind and thoughtful!
A reminder that we have an area of the website dedicated specifically for support people of our members. If you think your loved ones would like to learn more about your condition, or access support tips, please let them know to touch base with us. Membership for your support person is free while you are a member of CCI Support.
