I hope you all had a lovely long weekend, with some time to enjoy the warmer weather.
As the weather warms up it can be a nice reminder to enjoy 10 minutes each day in a sunny spot to increase your body’s ability to boost Vitamin D levels. Sitting in the sun, enjoying a cuppa in your favourite mug can be a beautiful ritual, wearing sunglasses if required to limit photosensitivity, or keeping the face out of the sun and exposing the legs or arms.
We have a great range of books available for our members to borrow here at CCI Support. If you would like to see the list of these please let me know or contact Christie at [email protected].
I have enjoyed connecting with many of you in our Nelson / Marlborough CCI Support members online support group. Our last group meeting for the year will be held on Thursday 14th December at 1pm and the first meeting of the new year will be on Thursday 1st February. Please let me know if you would like to learn more about joining this group.
And lastly, maintaining hydration is important as the weather warms up, aiming for 2 – 3 litres of water each day, and adding in electrolytes to help with symptom management. Electrolytes can be prescribed by your GP or sourced from pharmacies or health stores. A reminder that www.healthpost.co.nz offers a discount of 10% for CCI Support members for supplements such as electrolytes, and many more products. This discount code can be found in the CCIS Members section of our website www.ccisupport.org.nz under the tab “Membership Discounts”.
I hope you have a great month ahead, please continue taking good care of yourselves.
