Hello BOP members,

Has anyone noticed the first signs of spring yet? I took a lovely short walk in my local reserve recently and saw so many plants in bloom. It’s amazing how nature can bring colour to the last wintery days. Snowdrops and bluebells are my favourites. Take some time to appreciate these changes in our environment—they can help us stay connected and calm our nervous system.

Throughout August, I’ll be releasing one of my short restorative movement videos each week. These are specifically designed for those with CFS/POTS/FM, so keep an eye out for them on our website under self-care videos.

Our first in-person meeting in Whakatane had a slow start due to some technical issues, but the venue was lovely and even provided refreshments. The next meeting will be on October 2nd at the clinical campus at the hospital.

It was great to hear from MSD at our last members’ meeting that our Towards Wellness Program can be claimed on the disability allowance. I’ve been enjoying facilitating our small online group through the program, which I believe is crucial for your wellness journey. With information and resources to help you manage your condition and improve your quality of life. During our Zoom meetings, we watch the videos together, discuss the content, and leave time at the end for activities or questions. Each session lasts no longer than an hour, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others on the same journey.
