I have been thinking about you all and thank you to all who have booked in with me to have conversations over the phone, or I have connected in person within the social meetings. It is always lovely to hear how you are all doing and what has been happening in your worlds.
It has been a really busy month (honestly, where has March gone?), and I have had the privilege to attend some training, as well as going in for a chat with the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy teams at Wellington hospital. I left the meeting feeling really positive about the work that they do, and how caring and engaged they all are with their clients. They were really inquisitive about ways in which they can support their clients with chronic illnesses, and they were also generous with their knowledge explaining the pathways in which our clients can be referred to them. I’m really looking forward to continuing to build a collaborative working relationship with them 😊
With the change of weather and winter approaching, please remember to look after yourselves. The darker mornings and evenings can affect the mood and motivation, but it is really important to make time to sit in the sun either outside or by the window and replenish your vitamin D. I am one of those very few people who love winter and everything about it, so I’m really looking forward to the colder days and going to bed a little earlier (I know that’s an unpopular opinion, in fact, most of my family and friends don’t understand my love for winter! 😊).
If you haven’t already, it would be awesome for you all to check out our online support groups that we are running. Support is so important, and with the days becoming colder it can be a barrier to attending the in person social groups. The online ones will still be there for anyone who wants to connect 😊.
Finally, I always LOVE hearing from you all. Please reach out if you need any support, resources, a friendly and empathic ear to listen, or even if you want to chat about the weather (I promise I won’t mention how much I love winter).
Nga Mihi,
Luisa
