How can you keep your energy, happiness, creativity, and relationships fresh and thriving in the midst of never-ending family demands, career pressures, and the stress of everyday life?
Sacred Rest, written by Dr Saundra Dalton-Smith, a board-certified internal medicine doctor, reveals why rest can no longer remain optional.
A CCIS member had this to say about “Sacred Rest”:
I thoroughly enjoyed the book ‘Sacred Rest”. It taught me about the different types of rest, that rest is not a bad thing, and we should not feel guilty about resting. Most often people know that they should rest, but do not, as they feel they need to finish a job before they are allowed to rest. Often taking yourself to the limit before resting. However, it is about accepting that is it okay to rest and it is important to rest even if the job is not finished. “Sacred Rest” describes the different types of rest and discusses using a technique like mindfulness to mentally rest. The author Saundra Dalton-Smith was a very hard worker and did a lot of public speaking however, she had to learn to practice what she was teaching people about resting. The member who read this book, liked it so much they said this book is something that people cannot be without, it is a must read for people with CFS / ME.
“Sacred Rest” is available from the CCI Support Library if you would like to read it.
* The book is Christian based and does mentioned God from a biblical perspective from time to time.
