Hello BOP members,

As the days slowly begin to get longer, we can look forward to those warmer days ahead. However, we still have plenty of winter weather left, which gives us the perfect excuse to remain in our cosy winter slumber. Embrace those cosy nights, snuggling up to watch your favourite movie, or enjoying some lovely yoga nidra practices in a comfortable bed. Winter allows us to be more silent and hunker down, but it’s also important to keep our bodies moving in a gentle, healing way.

This is where restorative movement (RM) can help. RM is a wonderful way to ease pain in the body and is one of the most commonly prescribed treatments for FM. It can also be beneficial for ME/CFS. A regular RM program can help reduce stiffness, counteract deconditioning, improve outlook, and facilitate sleep. Combined with ujjayi breathing, RM helps keep our body anchored in a resting state while we gently mobilize.

I’m excited to announce that I’ve put together four short RM videos specifically for CFS/CM, which will be released soon on our website. You can stop them at any time or just do the breathing practice—whatever feels right for you. Find a time in the day when you have a bit more energy and turn it into a moment to honour your body’s healing by engaging in RM practice.

Lastly, I’m really looking forward to seeing our EBOP members soon at our first in-person meeting on August 7th.

Until next time take care and stay warm and cosy 😊
