Hello BOP members,

May was our ME Awareness Month, and we had a wonderful time celebrating in Tauranga! Wharf Street was beautifully lit up in blue, and our hobby share group enjoyed lovely blue lotus tea together in the blue room. Our monthly social coffee group members showed their support by wearing blue ribbons. We also provided a presentation on CFS to the staff at Te Whatu Ora, which I hope will help raise even more awareness.

Membership renewals have been busy, and I want to extend a big thank you to everyone who has renewed. As the shortest day approaches, it’s important to soak up as much sunlight as possible. Even 10 minutes of exposure in the garden without glasses can make a difference. Vitamin D3 can also support our sleep patterns, reduce brain inflammation, and boost serotonin levels, aiding the natural production of melatonin.

For a mood boost and digestive support, try a hot lemon and honey drink with a hint of ginger and thyme first thing in the morning. Manuka honey, if possible, adds extra health benefits.

Until next time take care and stay warm and cosy 😊
